iLase 1 for 1

For every surgical procedure we perform, i.Lase supports IMPACT to provide a sight-restoring cataract operation for a patient in a developing country.

i.Lase supports the IMPACT Foundation, a long-established charity based in West Sussex.  Mr Mohammed Muhtaseb has previously visited Bangladesh on a mission with IMPACT to perform cataract surgery at two of their facilities and was impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of their work.  It is with great pleasure that i.Lase has entered into a collaboration with IMPACT to provide continuous and sustainable support of their sight-restoring surgical facilities.

This is what IMPACT say about themselves:

IMPACT strives for a world in which no one is needlessly disabled by disease, lack of knowledge or shortage of medical services. Through our mobile hospitals and clinics (Lifeline Express hospital train in India and Jibon Tari floating hospital in Bangladesh), we take medical treatment and surgery to underserved communities in Africa and Asia.

Impact and iLase. Working in partnership to restore sight in the developing world

Mr Mohammed Muhtaseb has long been a supporter of delivering quality ophthalmic care to patients in under-served communities.  For many years he has engaged in such activities across several countries, undertaking high-volume surgery in challenging environments and for advanced cases of (mostly) cataract.

Whilst personal delivery of surgical care remains important to Mr Muhtaseb, he realises that this will be limited to only a certain number of days each year and so would like to offer a more sustainable and ongoing level of support.  For that reason, i.Lase has teamed up with The IMPACT Foundation in the following way:

For every surgical procedure we perform, i.Lase supports IMPACT to provide a sight-restoring cataract operation for a patient in a developing country.

Our international programmes prevent and alleviate needless disabilityIn this way we aim to make a difference to the patient whose sight has been restored, but also to their family, enabling them to enjoy a brighter future together.  As a patient of i.Lase you are playing a key role in this important work.  Thank you on behalf of both organisation.
